History
Robert B. Staats opened the doors of 229 McKenzie Avenue for business in 1972. Lawyers working out of this office endeavor to provide the best possible representation to each and every client. Robert Staats was fond of saying that anyone taking on a case against a lawyer from 229 McKenzie, was in for a fight. Aggressive, creative, smart, and ethical representation has always been the goal of the lawyers working out of this office.
James H. White, Jr. joined Robert B. Staats and Michael C. Overstreet, at 229 McKenzie Avenue in 1981. Mr. White is an AV rated Criminal Trial Attorney, the only lawyer in the Fourteenth Judicial Circuit to have earned this distinction.
Michael C. Overstreet left the firm in 1991 and is now a Circuit Judge; Robert B. Staats retired in 2000. Though Robert B. Staats has retired, the firm still bears his name in recognition of his contribution to the practice of law at 229 McKenzie Avenue.
Michael E. Grabner joined James H. White, Jr., at 229 McKenzie Avenue, in January 2003. Previously Mr. Grabner worked for Herman D. Laramore, Public Defender Fourteenth Judicial Circuit, as an Assistant Public Defender, in the Bay County circuit courts. Mr. Grabner became a partner of the firm in 2006.
